Submit a Letter to the Editor to have your voice heard!

Letters to the Editor are an effective way for you to voice your opinion, advocate for issues that are important to you, and communicate it widely across readers countywide (and beyond)! While you're limited to 200 words or less if you're submitting to the South Bend Tribune, here are a few tips from the ACLU about how to write effective Letters to the Editor!

Tips for Writing Effective Letters to the Editor:

  • Keep it short and on one subject.

  • Include your contact information for credibility and verification purposes.

  • Send them to local newsletters and newspapers as well.

  • Make references to previous letters or articles in your letter.
