Gregg Hixenbaugh

I have served as a member of the Mishawaka Common Council for 17 years and currently am president of the Council (past 4 years; 8 years total) and have served as the chair of all major Council committees. I have sponsored or drafted multiple ordinances and resolutions and successfully led public safety wage negotiations. In addition to my focus on public safety, I have been a consistent advocate for the needs of Mishawaka’s traditional neighborhoods and facilitating common sense economic development. As a former central office administrator for the School City of Mishawaka, I also makes support of public education a priority. I am a life-long resident of Mishawaka and the third member of my family to serve on the Council. I have been married to Lynn (Trimboli) for 33 years and am the father of two adult sons, Mitch, and Mike. I am a former youth sports coach and have served on the following governmental and private boards: Mishawaka Business Association Board of Directors; Mishawaka Education Foundation Board of Directors; Mishawaka Penn Harris Public Library Board of Trustees; Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG) Board of Directors; PSAP (911) Combined Dispatch Executive Board; St. Joseph County Economic Development Commission; St. Joseph County Housing Authority Board of Directors; and the Diloreto Club Council. I have proven leadership skills, professional training, and commitment to the community will allow me to continue to play a valuable role in making Mishawaka a great city in which to live, work, and visit.
